Satisfaction? me? dEsireS? God? The preacher?

Satisfaction: the act of fulfilling or achieving a need or wish (according to cambridge)
Synonyms: contentment, pleasure, gratification, sense of achievement

We are apt to think that generally people are satisfied when they have basic necessities, good health, housing, shelter, clothing, food, enough money to get what they want, education, a family, relationships, family doing well. But does it end there? which human is there that doesn’t want more? More money, more fame, more recognition, more appraisal, more love, more joy, job promotions, better governance from our leaders. We see progress as not being stagnant, moving from grass to grace, from better to best. Progress is defined as development towards an improved or more advanced condition. So what human being doesn’t want progress?

but what about the little things that bring us joy, when people we love, love us back, when we are appreciated for doing right? the satisfaction or rest that supposedly comes from watching moves, going to amusement park, watching a sport match, watching porn, playing video games, travelling to a new place, meeting new people, Unknowingly most of us do these to satisfy desires we didn't even know existed, Everyone has innate desires that need to be satisfied, everyone was created this way, if not we won't have people who are hurt, who are disappointed, who have given up hope, all these stem from the fact that our innate desires have not being satisfied.
Sure you may get satisfaction, today, but how about tomorrow, we need to make effort everyday to go to work, relate with others, eat something and have a proper rest. Everyday we go through this relentless cycle cause that’s what makes us human.

Our desires and wants in life keep changing, once we were babies, then teenagers, then adults and we become senior citizens in society, does one ever get fully satisfied? we are born empty and through our efforts over the years we strive to live and we die, leaving all these behind, I guess that’s when the cycle ends too.
The Preacher writes,

"What advantage does man have in all his work
Which he does under the sun
A generation goes and a generation comes,
But the earth remains forever.
Also, the sun rises and the sun sets;
And hastening to its place it rises there again.
Blowing toward the south,
Then turning toward the north,
The wind continues swirling along;
And on its circular courses the wind returns.
All the rivers flow into the sea,
Yet the sea is not full.
To the place where the rivers
There they flow again.
All things are wearisome;
Man is not able to tell it.
The eye is not satisfied with seeing,
Nor is the ear filled with hearing.
That which has been is that which will be,
And that which has been done is that which will be done.
So there is nothing new under the sun."

My question then is, IS LIFE FUTILE? Will there be more after death? I choose to believe that earth is indeed a temporary home. That makes more sense to me, to be born and then die, to grow up and then to grow old, to be sick and to recover, to be happy and be sad, to be silent and to speak, to love and to hate, to revenge and to forgive, to learn and unlearn, to work and to rest, to strive to make a difference, to be beat down and then get up! Yes going through all these make us the human we ought to be, one with character. If you do really well, you might get a prize, you might be celebrated for centuries, but then what? Is that it? Am not content to know my life is all about this!

I guess in me lies in innate desire for more, I don't want to have lived only on earth, life is indeed precious, it would be great to live a hundred years, affecting lives, leaving monuments in your name, I think it will be great to do all these and still be rewarded in the coming life. Am going to look forward and am going to choose JESUS!
I am going to choose Jesus especially for this living we do on earth. am still in University, and I graduate in a few months By God's grace, I have an inkling life is very difficult, sure you are paid to work, but no one really pays you relate with your co workers, and work is just one part of your life, how the other parts come together, handling everything seems scary. so am going to trust JESUS, to through the motions together, for grace to handle to joy, the wealth the achievements, for grace to handle the disappointments and betrayals. Not that I hope for the worst, but inevitably we live in world full of humans, none of which are perfect, myself included. The world we live in isn't perfect either, there can be tsunamis, earthquakes, some random guy could wake up one day and decide to shoot everyone in his way. Heartbreaks and disappointments are bound to occur. Am going to trust Jesus for the big necessities and the smaller satisfactions. I believe this cycle of life might be much easier to got through then.
Of course trust doesn't come easily, but we'll get there!
